There were nearly 72,000 women in the US who reported income of more than $500K to the IRS in 2016. That number has grown at 13% per year since 2009. The highest income segment (wages of $5M+) has grown at 28% over the same time period.
By comparison, there were 405,000 high-income men in 2016. Note that the ratio of high-income men to women has fallen from 8.0 to 5.7 from 2009 to 2016. Data for this chart came from Bloomberg's analysis of IRS data.

How I Made the Stacked Bar Chart with CAGRs
Here is the data in the Mekko Graphics data editor.
Here's how I made this chart:
- Add a Mekko Graphics chart to a PowerPoint slide
- Copy and paste the IRS data for 2009 to 2016 from Excel into the Mekko Graphics Data Editor
- Add the CAGR formula (=CAGR, first year, last year, number of years) for the first series and copy it down for other series
- Reduce chart margins to make the chart area wider and longer
- Under Bars and Series, on the Bars tab, make the last bar a CAGR column and remove it from the chart
- Under Bars and Series, on the Series, Visibility tab, remove the last 2 series from the chart, make them data rows and format the numbers under the Number Format column
- On the Series, Style tab, change the colors for each series
- Add a legend to the chart and choose the position of Align to CAGR
- Under Show Labels, choose Values Only
- Add the thousands unit (K) in the Format Chart task pane on the Values tab
- Insert a growth line under Insert in the Edit Chart ribbon and select CAGR instead of Absolute in the Format Growth Line task pane
